Hagal Ocean appoints new sales manager

CEO Øystein Kjæreng welcomes Nils Christian Aas to Hagal Ocean.

To meet the growing demand for marine batteries, Hagal Ocean hires Nils Christian Aas to take the helm as Sales Manager.

There is a push towards energy efficiency and zero-emission operations in the maritime industry. Hagal Ocean, a Hagal subsidiary, is experiencing increasing interest and many requests from companies looking into battery technology and energy storage solutions systems. Now they are scaling up to accelerate sales and delivery of their Eoh battery solution.

Nils Christian Aas has taken on the role as Sales Manager in Hagal Ocean, and will be instrumental in building the sales organization and customer pipeline.

– Implementation of battery systems in marine segments like aquaculture is at the very beginning. Batteries are on everyone’s lips right now and will eventually become the new industry standard. It is very exciting to be part of Hagal Ocean and lead the sales efforts in this booming market, Nils Christian Aas says.

Shaping a strong sales organization

Aas comes to Hagal Ocean from VEGA where he was Regional Sales Manager and responsible for the aquaculture segment. During his seven years in the company he worked with process instrumentation sales to companies operating in the oil and gas, aquaculture, food and process industry. He has more than ten years experience with technical sales up his sleeve, and has a background from electronics and automation.

– Joining Hagal Ocean on the growth journey they have embarked on is very motivating. I look forward to using my experience and skillset to shape a strong sales organization that can convey the many benefits of battery energy storage and help companies optimize their battery technology investments, Aas explains.

Simplifying batteries

Hagal´s ambition is to make batteries the easy choice for marine companies replacing diesel aggregators with renewable energy solutions. The recipe is DNV-certified batteries built on the safer LFP chemistry, that has long durability and can take a hard beating at sea. The flexible modular solution can easily be tailored to specific customer needs, as fully electric or hybrid battery systems, and paired with solar and wind systems to store intermittent energy.

– Hagal invests heavily in technology development, and we are partnering with strong players in the battery value chain to make sure we can deliver cutting-edge batteries at a lower costs. Our customers will get the full advantage of a battery partner that can support them all the way from purchase or lease, to installation, operation and maintenance, says Øystein Kjæreng,  Hagal Ocean’s CEO.

– We are happy to get a person with such caliber and passion on the sales team. I am confident that Nils Christian will help us set the right direction for our sales and market efforts, he states.
